Pride and Elmo sightings: Your Hill horoscope

What’s happening around D.C. the week of June 3-9

Elmo has been to the Capitol before, and he’s headed to Washington again this week. Send us all your Sesame Street sightings, please. (CQ Roll Call file photo)

Nats night out

June is Pride Month, and Nationals Park is celebrating all things LGBTQ at Tuesday’s game as part of their 15th annual Night OUT. They even have cool shirts to go with Chicago’s White Sox.

Tasty Tuesday

The 7th annual Taste of Adams Morgan is Tuesday, which means your dinner plans are set for this food festival that begins at 5 p.m. You’ll need $35 tickets to fill up on some Ethiopian, Mexican, American and Italian cuisine, among (many) other options, but don’t worry, you can get them day of.

Let’s taco bout bikes

Eat tacos and learn about the latest innovations in the bike industry that could make your commute to work less annoying. The PeopleForBikes Coalition will host the 3rd annual Congressional Bike Fest in Rayburn on Wednesday. The beer starts flowing at 5 p.m.

Runday funday

Love it or hate, there’s likely a day for it. Wednesday is Global Running Day, so whether you enjoy the feeling that comes from slapping your feet on pavement or the one that comes from sitting on the couch for long periods of time, prepare yourself for the feeling you get when you see all your friends suddenly turn into avid runners on Instagram.

Street smart

Word on the street is that Big Bird, Elmo and the Cookie Monster are making their way to the nation’s capital this week to tell Congress to leave the puppetry to the experts. Kidding ... or maybe not. We’re giving anyone who spots our childhood heroes major brownie (err... cookie) points and even a RT. Tag us using #HOH.

Cruisin’ for a boozin’

Take your Friday night with a grain of salt — and lime. You don’t need to go to Mexico for a cold margarita and nightlife; all you need is the Potomac River. Things To Do, a social club for young professionals in D.C., will set sail from Washington Harbor in Georgetown at 9 p.m. sharp, and they will “knot” be waiting for any late arrivals. For $30, shipmates can enjoy an hour-long trip along the river, a cash bar and $3 marg specials. So “water” you waiting for?
