The back and forth on why Mueller’s report hasn’t been released yet

Democrats are demanding that Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s report be made public, but various Republicans are quick to object, saying Attorney General William Barr needs time to determine how to do that.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday there are “two things [Barr] will have to grapple with,” including classified information that may appear in the report and “innocent people’s reputations.”

President Donald Trump has called the report “complete and total exoneration” and signaled his support of its release, but Democrats like House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler have suggested Barr’s “conclusions raise more questions than they answer.”
