Street cred

One of D.C.’s favorite all-day block parties, the H Street Festival, returns on Saturday, Sept. 21. This year’s festivities will feature music of different genres, dance, an interactive children’s program, fashion and more. You can start making your merries at noon.

Knot your average Monday

Planning a wedding? If so,“tie up loose ends before you tie the knot.” The Liaison Capitol Hill Hotel, located at 415 New Jersey Ave. NW, is hosting a wedding planning party on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be makeovers, fashion, and our personal favorite: cake and cocktails.

Tuesday museday

You don’t have to “go up on a Tuesday” to enjoy a night out at the theater. The musical production “Cats” will be at the Kennedy Center through Oct. 6 if you’re looking for purrfect evening plans.

Paella, please

There really is a party for everything and paella is no exception. Paella Nights returns to the Fairmont Hotel in Georgetown this week. Jordi Gallardo, executive chef of the Fairmont, Chef Cinthia Bonilla from Mola and Carlos Gomez Segovia from Taberna del Alabardero will prepare and serve their own versions of the Spanish dish Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at 2401 M St NW. Come hungry, leave happy.

What the truck?

We’re nearing the end of the regular baseball season, so this will be your last chance to feast at the Truckeroo Festival at The Bullpen on Friday. The Nationals will be in Miami, but don’t let that stop you from heading over to the Half Street Southeast hangout to get your food truck fix. The monthly ritual goes into hibernation after September, according to its website, so don’t say we didn’t warn you.
